New Safety Measures at Karachi Airport Amid Monkeypox Threat
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has introduced strict new safety protocols for all international airlines arriving at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport due to the increasing threat of monkeypox.
The CAA has ordered airlines to provide face masks to all passengers and ensure that both airline staff and ground handling teams wear masks at all times. Additionally, everyone at the airport, including passengers, is strongly advised to use hand sanitizers regularly.
The luggage of all passengers arriving from abroad is now thoroughly disinfected as an extra precaution. Passengers showing symptoms of monkeypox will be isolated immediately following guidelines provided by Border Health Services.
Karachi Airport has also intensified health screening procedures, with over 22 flights already examined. To date, there have been zero reported cases of monkeypox.
