Waqar Younis Likely to Resign as PCB Cricket Affairs Advisor

Waqar Younis is stepping down as Advisor to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. This decision comes just a few days after he was appointed to the role.

Sources suggest that a new cricket advisor may be appointed to replace Waqar Younis. It has been noted that Waqar has not been attending the office for the past few days.

Sources also reveal that some officials within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were hesitant to work with Waqar Younis, which has caused him frustration. This situation has led him to consider resigning from his position.

Waqar Younis held a press conference with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi immediately after his appointment. However, he has not been seen in the office for several days since then.

Reason for Waqar Younis Resignation

The decision to step down has surprised many, especially as it comes so soon after his appointment. Internal resistance within the PCB, especially from the International Cricket Department, is thought to be a major reason for his decision.

His resignation does not appear to be related to Pakistan’s recent defeat in the Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh. The PCB plans to find a new person for the advisory role, as they have recently posted a job ad for the position.

There are also reports that Waqar Younis might take on a new role as a mentor for a team in the upcoming Champions Cup, which is scheduled to start next month.
