Aimed at uplifting minority families, the initiative allocates one-time grants of Rs 150,000 to over 1,400 families during key festivals, supporting both economic stability and social inclusivity. This move aims to reduce financial stress within minority communities and contribute to their welfare on a broader level.
Kisan Card: Supporting Farmers’ Livelihoods
The Kisan Card or welfare cards aims to address the specific challenges faced by small-scale farmers, empowering them through financial aid and other essential resources. With funding of up to Rs 150,000 per crop cycle, farmers can cover key expenses, including seeds, fertilizers, and other crop-related essentials. By alleviating these costs, the program seeks to improve the agricultural output of Punjab, enhancing food security and supporting local economies.
Additional Benefits for Farmers
Beyond direct financial assistance, the Kisan Card program provides agricultural tools and equipment such as laser levelers and tractors at little to no profit. This focus on reducing operational costs aims to increase efficiency and yields, particularly benefiting wheat and other staple crop farmers.
These welfare cards underscore Punjab’s dedication to fostering a balanced, inclusive environment where minority and agricultural communities thrive. By investing in these groups, the government is not only supporting individual families but also building a foundation for sustained economic and social progress across the province.
