Punjab Launches CM Transport Program for Girls

Chief Minister of Punjab recently launched the CM Transport Program for Girls, dedicating 76 buses to women’s colleges throughout the province. In the first phase of this initiative, 19 buses have been distributed to colleges in areas that previously lacked adequate transportation. 

During the inauguration, the Chief Minister interacted with students from these institutions, who graciously presented her with a bouquet. She then invited the female students on stage and handed over the keys of the buses to the principals of the respective colleges.

Key Features of CM Transport Program 

The program will roll out the buses in three phases, with the first phase focusing on 19 tehsils that have been deprived of reliable transport options. The cities included in this initial phase are Bhakkar, Sialkot, Chiniot, Kamalia, Hasilpur, Pindi Ghep, Shorekot, Jatoi, Fateh Jang, Hasan Abdal, Kot Momin, Jalalpur Pirwala, Malakwal, Ferozewala, Kallar Syedan, Manchanabad, and Sharqpur.

 CM Transport Program for Girls

In the upcoming second phase, additional buses will be allocated to girls’ colleges in areas such as Nowshera Virkan, Dina, Yazman, Pindi Bhattian, Lalian, Bhawana, Kot Addu, Taxila, Sarai Alamgir, and Pelaan. Buses will also be provided to Allama Iqbal Town Lahore, Isa Khel, Raiwind, and Sohawa Girls Colleges by February 2025. 

By March-April 2025, the third phase will see the allocation of two more buses and 32 coaches to 35 additional tehsils. The Chief Minister of Punjab also took the time to inspect the buses and evaluate a proposal for air-conditioned vehicles for the girls’ colleges, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving transportation for female students.
