PCB has announced 5 Champions Cup Mentors 

Islamabad: Champions Cup mentors has been selected by PCB. After a thorough and transparent selection process, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Misbah-ul-Haq have been confirmed as the mentors for the five Champions Cup teams. They will each be working on three-year contracts. The details about which teams and squads they will be mentoring will be announced later.

About Champions Cup Mentors 

Shoaib Malik and Sarfaraz Ahmed are two-time ICC event winners. Misbah-ul-Haq has won an ICC event once and captained the ACC Asia Cup 2012-winning team. Saqlain Mushtaq and Waqar Younis were part of the squad that reached the 1999 World Cup final.

The first task for the mentors in the PCB Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25 will be the Champions One-Day Cup. It is scheduled to take place at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from September 12 to 29.

This single-league competition will showcase the top cricketers from across the country. It will also mark the return of senior men’s competitive cricket to Faisalabad after nearly two years. 

Champions Cup mentors

The last domestic men’s 50-over match held at the Iqbal Stadium occurred in March 2022 between Balochistan and KPK.

The five mentors for the Champions Cup teams have played 1,621 international matches in total. They have scored 32,780 runs and taken 1,503 wickets combined.
