Oman has recently introduced a new free visa policy offering a free 0-day visa for cruise ship passengers. This Oman visa initiative is part of the country’s efforts to enhance tourism in Oman. The visa allows for a seamless travel experience, encouraging more visitors to explore the Sultanate of Oman.

Details of the Free Visa
Under the new policy, passengers and crew members on ships traveling to Oman can benefit from a free-of-cost visa. The announcement was made by Lt. Gen. Hassan bin Mohsin Al Shurayqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs. This new visa facility is part of amendments to the Executive Rules of the Residence Law of Foreigners.
Types of Visit Visas
Oman is currently offering two different types of visit visas:
Ten-Day Visa
- Eligibility: Available to passengers and crew members traveling on ships.
- Application: Issued by the relevant authority upon request from the cruise ship agent.
- Condition: The visit must be completed within 30 days of visa issuance.
One-Month Visa
- Eligibility: Also available to passengers and crew members of ships.
- Application: Issued similarly by the competent authority upon request from the cruise ship agent.
- Condition: The visit must be completed within 30 days of visa issuance.
