Mahesh Babu Joins ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ After Shah Rukh Khan

South Indian star Mahesh Babu is joining Disney’s upcoming film, Mufasa: The Lion King. This news follows the announcement that Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan will voice characters in the Hindi version of the film.

Mahesh Babu Joins ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ in Telugu Version

Mahesh Babu will voice Mufasa in the Telugu version. Disney India confirmed this exciting news, and Mahesh expressed his thrill about the project. He has always admired Disney’s legacy and finds the character appealing both as a loving father and as a powerful king.

Mahesh said, “This collaboration with Disney is very special to me. It is an experience I will enjoy with my children. I am excited to watch the movie in Telugu on the big screen with my family and fans.”

In the Hindi version, Shah Rukh Khan will voice Mufasa and his son Aryan Khan will voice Simba. This collaboration was hinted at when Shah Rukh shared a photo of himself and Aryan in Indian cricket jerseys with ‘Mufasa’ and ‘Simba’ written on them.

Along with Mahesh Babu, popular Telugu actors Brahmanandam and Ali will return to voice Pumbaa and Timon. They voiced these characters in the 2019 release of The Lion King.

The Telugu trailer for the film will be released on August 26, 2024, at 11:07 AM, with the film hitting theaters on December 20, 2024.
