BISP Franchise System Ends Due To Corruption Scandal

BISP has recently decided to eliminate its franchise system following severe corruption allegations. This significant change is intended to ensure that financial aid reaches the intended beneficiaries more effectively and transparently.

BISP Franchise System Abolished

Chairperson of BISP, Rubina Khalid, made the decision to abolish the franchise system after multiple complaints of corruption surfaced. These complaints, primarily from women enrolled in the program. It was discovered during Rubina secret visits to various franchise centers.

The franchise centers, which was previously used to distribute monetary support, has faced criticism for facilitating corrupt practices. In response to these issues, this program will now implement a new system aimed at direct payments.

BISP Ends Franchise System Amid Corruption Scandal

New Distribution Method 

Under the new approach, women beneficiaries will receive their financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. The program has partnered with six banks to facilitate this process. The introduction of online wallet accounts for distributing monetary aid is expected to enhance transparency and reduce corruption.

This shift to direct payments will eliminate the need for intermediaries, which had previously allowed corrupt activities to occur. By transferring funds directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts, this program aims to ensure that financial support reaches those in need without delay or interference.
