Punjab Government Launches ‘Karobar Card’ Loan Scheme for Small Businesses

A Step Toward Economic Empowerment Karobar Card

The announcement was made during a meeting in Lahore, where Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of these schemes in fostering entrepreneurship and economic stability in the province. By providing accessible financial resources to small businesses, the Karobar Card scheme is aimed at addressing key challenges faced by small entrepreneurs, including access to credit and working capital. These loans will be provided on flexible terms, ensuring ease of repayment and encouraging more people to start or expand their businesses.

Chief Minister’s Broader Business Support Strategy

In addition to the Karobar Card, the Punjab Government also launched the ‘Chief Minister Aasan Karobar Financing Scheme’, which targets medium-sized businesses. This scheme offers loans of up to Rs 30 million, with a repayment period of five years. Through these combined initiatives, the government aims to stimulate business activities, generate employment, and contribute to the overall economic growth of Punjab.

Additional Government Schemes for Public Welfare

It is one of the measures of the welfare and social justice package unveiled by the Punjab government. Lately, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched several schemes which include relief and job opportunities to sectors. Of these, the most prominent is the Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme.
