In the initial phase of the programme, six public hospitals will offer heart surgery services. Lahore Children Hospital and the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) will be central to this effort, with additional hospitals in Multan, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi taking part.
In the second phase of the program, facilities in Wazirabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha will be added.
The Chief Minister expressed her heartfelt commitment to this cause, stating, “I feel like a mother rather than a chief minister.” She acknowledged the pain of mothers who have lost children to heart ailments and reiterated the programme’s mission to alleviate their suffering through improved healthcare services.
To ensure transparency and proper monitoring, an online dashboard will be introduced to oversee the progress of the Children Heart Surgery Programme. This will help track the surgeries performed, ensuring timely and effective treatments for all children in need.
